Save Money By Choosing Vegetarian Options More Often

Welcome back!

Today’s frugal tip of the day is: Try to go vegetarian more often. Meat is expensive, and if you, say, are an everyday dinner meat eater, switching just a couple of those meals a week to vegetarian can help you save money.

Many people think vegetarian meals are limited in the most part to salad, however that certainly doesn’t have to be the case. There are many different dishes that are or can be made to be meatless: pasta, fajitas, soups, chilis, and a variety of ethnic dishes come to mind immediately. Switching over a few dinners a week to vegetarian really isn’t very hard, and you can still enjoy hearty, satisfying meals. It’s just an easy way to save a little money.

I’ve finally worn out my hubby -
He’s become more accepting of bean dishes!
I love beans as a source of protein -
They can be made into so many tasty dishes …
    And they are SO CHEAP!

    Great advice!

My fiance and I eat most meals at home meatless because meat really does cost a lot of money. We then can afford to splurge a bit when we go out to dinner by having a steak for example.

So we make a lot of bean burritos, pasta with veggies, cheese enchiladas, rice and beans, veggie lasagna, veggie fajitas, veggie pizza, and similar meals that all taste really great. And we don’t even miss the meat.

    Thanks,

    Jason

@dawn - that’s great, beans are great for their fibre content as well as cheap price. good for you on wearing the hubby down! :)

@Jason - Great ideas, and I agree, if the meals are tasty, you really won’t miss the meat.
