I have to admit that in the past my husband and I have been guilty of saving money all week only to blow it on the weekends. Of course, we try not to, but it can be hard not to spend too much money when we’re out on the town having fun. However, this weekend will be different as we are planning ahead and have found some cheap local events to take part in.

On Saturday, we are going to enjoy a hayride and a haunted house with our nieces at a local farm, and then we are going to have a pot luck with some goods friends at our place. On Sunday we are heading to a pet expo which is very affordable (eight dollars), especially considering that I found a two for one coupon online. Knowing that the weekend will not blow our budget actually has me a lot more relaxed, which is an added benefit of planning things before hand… so perhaps this is something we should do more often.
