Make your yard sale a sure-fire success!
Welcome back!

You’ve decided to sell your unneeded items, and what better way to do that than a yard sale. Follow the advice below, and you’ll be sure to add money to your pocket.
- In addition to the traditional classified ad route, take advantage of free advertising such as Craigslist and Kijiji. Advertising your yard or garage sale on these sites won’t cost you a penny, and will create more opportunities for the public to hear of your sale.
- Have enough cash and coin on hand to make change for your patrons. This is basic, but something that can easily be forgotten and put a huge kink in the plans of any would-be yard saler.
- Try to list some of the specific items you will be selling, so those looking for something in particular will visit your sale before others.
- Make the street address clear. If you live on a smaller road, ensure that you list the nearest main road and directions from it.
- The signs you use to direct people to your sale are very important. You want people to arrive easily and in good spirits, so ensure your signs are large and easy to read. Keeping them color coordinated will also aid potential customers in spotting your signs.
Best of luck and wishes of good weather to all you would-be yard salers!
