Can of soda

Eating habits are just that - habits. Once a person is in the routine of drinking a can of soda everyday, if they try to stop, they’ll miss it - for awhile, at least. Unfortunately it seems to be easier to form the bad habits rather the than good. And I have to admit, I’ve become quite addicted to drinking pop everyday. One a day, every day. A soda junkie if you will.

It’s not frugal, and it’s certainly not healthy. It’s a habit that I’ve kicked several times before, but as soon as a single coke touches my lips, it’s back to square one. In order to stop this vicious circle, I have to quit cold turkey, because it’s not something that I’m able to keep in moderation.

This post is designed to make myself accountable. I pledge to all of you reading, that I won’t buy soda, I won’t drink soda, and I’ll try not to even think about soda. Wish me luck.

If you have any tips, please share, as any help would be greatly appreciated!

I certainly understand about this one. And now I drink just water. Yeah, I know. That sounds gross or something. But it works. All I can tell you is that you need to keep it up once you are started. Do not give up after you get past the first day or two. It DOES work. And those things are not good for you at all.

    You can do it!!!

I’m in the same boat you are. I just can’t stay away from soda,I crave it so bad! I went 2 1/2 weeks without soda here a few months ago and I thought I was going to die. I was like an alcoholic…it was bad!! So of course I gave in. You said that you’ve kicked the habit several times before, for how long of time were you able to stop?

I think you are definately on the right track for posting about it and making yourself accountable, you definately have more willpower than I do that’s for sure!! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

@roxxymetal - I was able to stop for maybe three weeks to a month at a time - by then I felt over the “addiction”, and thought I’d be able to have one or two from time to time, in moderation. Unfortunately it didn’t work out that way.

Thanks for the good wishes! I will for sure update with a progress report! :)
