The Quarterly Trim Of My Expenses

June 9th, 2009 | Posted in Saving Money

Generally I like to go over all of my various bank and credit card statements each month. However, approximately once a quarter I like to go back and do a detailed look at where my money is going, and see if there are ways that I can trim down my expenses.

For example, while I pay for cable television and internet and am reasonably happy with the price I pay for these services each month, I like to give the company a call once in awhile to see if they can offer me any discounts. Sometimes they will be running a promotion and there is a product or service I can try for free. Also, this helps to ensure that I am receiving their lowest possible rate. I do the same thing with my cellphone company, and doing so keeps me (and my husband) satisfied that we are getting a good deal. It’s easy to do, doesn’t take much time, and the savings can really add up!

How To Be A Great Looking Nurse!

June 8th, 2009 | Posted in reviews

If you’ve ever seen a nurse in action, you’ll no doubt agree that they are some of the hardest working professionals out there. Always on their feet and constantly attending to the needs of others, it takes a special person to be a good nurse. I actually have a very good friend who works as a nurse in a local hospital, and while she has a very full life the one thing she doesn’t have is a lot of time to sleep or take care of herself. However, my friend still looks great, and so when I found a website online which offers beauty tips for nurses, I certainly thought of her.

The website is called Scrubs - The Nurse’s Guide To Good Living, and it features a bevvy of articles that will no doubt be of interest to the nurse who wants to look her best, especially because it includes advice on finding fashionable Scrubs. I was actually surprised when I read their article titled “Looking Great In Scrubs”, as I had always thought of scrubs as the unfashionable baggy green or blue things that nurses have worn for years. However, these days there are actually a large variety of really cute scrubs available, and I like to think they’re the kind I’d wear if I were a nurse.

Another article that I particularly liked reading was titled “Waking Up Looking Younger”. This is a great article not only for nurses, but for all people. I mean, who doesn’t want to look younger? The article features simple tips that will help to make you feel (and look) rejuvenated.
