JibJab does it again - Obama on a Unicorn

Welcome back!

As a Canadian, I like to keep an eye on the US electoral race. Mainly, because it’s so much more entertaining than what we get up here. Check out this video from JibJab and share in the laughs:

Oh, and I really do hope that the Americans elect the right person this time (whoever that may be), and head back towards prosperity… at least your dollar is still stronger than ours.

#3 Frugal tip of the day

nature

Today I was inspired by something that I do quite often, without really thinking about. Now, it’s not going to save you tons of money, but overtime will make a small difference in both your savings and our environment.

Today’s frugal tip is: washout and reuse plastic baggies. You know, the ones you use for lunches and whatnot. They’re easy to washout and dry, and can be used many times. Think of all the plastic we could keep out of our landfills if we all took just a few minutes out of our day and did this!

#2 Frugal tip of the day

reading on a laptop

Today my frugal tip is: read frugal forums. Frugal message boards, or forums, are a great source of not only money-saving ideas, but inspiration. When I first decided that I needed to spend less, and save more, I did some google searches for ideas. It was then that I came across frugal village, and boy was I glad I did. I saw that people with big families were spending less on groceries than I, a single girl at the time, was. That really opened my eyes, and I started to become more and more interested in saving as I read their posts.

I really believe that everybody has something to teach, and by reading the experiences of others, and their stories we can better our own lives. There are people from all walks of life posting on forums around the internet, so I recommend for all of you would-be-frugalites to take some time and read them.
