JibJab does it again - Obama on a Unicorn

As a Canadian, I like to keep an eye on the US electoral race. Mainly, because it’s so much more entertaining than what we get up here. Check out this video from JibJab and share in the laughs:

Oh, and I really do hope that the Americans elect the right person this time (whoever that may be), and head back towards prosperity… at least your dollar is still stronger than ours.

Black Friday Deals - Online

August 30th, 2008 | Posted in reviews

It may be late August, but Santa is already preparing his goods, and the pitter-patter of reindeer feet won’t be far off. For the frugal among us, it’s important to strategize in advance about how we’re going to avoid the budget disaster Christmas can bring to the unprepared.

I have come across a better, much, much easier way to take advantage of “Black Friday” deals. If you’re not familiar with the term Black Friday it’s the day after Thanksgiving, generally the first day of Christmas shopping, when many stores offer fantastic deals. However, usually such bargains are offered in limited quantities, which leads to huge lines, often starting in the wee hours of the morning.

As someone who has been there, and witnessed the madness that can ensue for a deal on a DVD player or an XBOX, I’m glad to have been tipped off to a better way of Christmas bargain shopping. This year, I’ll be checking out the Best Buy offers online, and staying away from the heard of eager shoppers in the store.

So, how can you take advantage of these deals, without waking up at 3.00 AM, and standing outside in the cold? There’s actually quite a smart site out there, Black Friday, that allows us to purchase the items online, avoiding all the hassle. It even offers email alerts to notify users when new Black Friday ads are up. If you’re looking to save money on Christmas, it’s something you’ll want ot check out for sure.

Oh, and the site also features deals for Cyber Monday, which is the Monday immediately following Black Friday, and typically one of the busiest days for e-commerce. I plan to do as much of my X-mas shopping as possible on these days, and get as many deals as I can. Sometimes, if I see a really good deal, I will buy it, and then resell it on eBay later on - might as well make a little money, right? Goodness knows it helps around the busy holiday season.
